Breadwinning Women

As a female breadwinner, are you struggling to navigate stress or resentment?

Maybe you have three jobs: your actual job; the majority of the housework and child-rearing; and managing your spouse’s injured ego?

Do you suffer from imposter syndrome? Or feel like you are dropping the ball?

Do you feel the pressure to continue to elevate yourself?

Is your life good, but there’s just something you can’t put your finger on that would make your life great?

Women have earned their spot in high powered, high pressured and high reward careers. Along with this success, female breadwinners face discouraging struggles with their relationships and at home. Just google it. High divorce rates, resentment, emasculated males, adverse health consequences, and more….

Let’s not pretend there isn’t an elephant in the room because, we all know, it’s the gender stereotypes for both sexes that still persist today.

These long standing, deeply engrained stereotypes of gender roles continue to plague female breadwinners and their families. Men build their identities on being the provider, women are penalized for their ambition. So where do you go from here? How do we change?

I specialize in individual and couples therapy for breadwinning women and their spouses.

In individual therapy, I can guide a more positive narrative within yourself, between partners and as a family unit. Together we specifically and systematically look at where the breach is cracking and why. We will open communication specific to breadwinning complications in the home unique to you, learn techniques to repair relational strife, build tools for managing all the “hats” you put on, open the heart to healing, letting go of the bitterness, find peace within, and support you on your successful path.

In couples counseling, we look at the successes and opportunities of each individual. We establish communication techniques and skills to embrace against even the toughest challenges. We’ll reconnect the heart and goals of the couple, and realign the mission of the family. Together we design healthier choices, trade-offs, calibrate the mental and physical load within a reasonable bandwidth, and transform your relationship to meet both person’s needs.
